It can be used as a plasticizer, catalyst carrier and pigment dispersant. Mineral oils are used in several mechanical and industrial capacities as thermal fluid or non-conductive coolants in electric components because they do not conduct electricity but do displace air and water. It is used in medicinal or cosmetic applications or food processing and fulfils stringent purity requirements of different pharmacopoeias.
