Description
- Tris ist nützlich als Puffer in einer Vielzahl biologischer Systeme.
- Zu den Anwendungsbereichen gehören die in-vitro- und in-vivo-Kontrolle des pH-Werts für Körperflüssigkeiten und Puffersystemen für die Elektrophorese.
- Tris wurde als Ausgangsmaterial für Polymere, Oxazolone (mit Carboxylsäuren) und Oxazolidine (mit Aldehyden) verwendet.
- Tris fällt keine Calciumsalze aus und ist für die Aufrechterhaltung der Löslichkeit von Mangansalzen wertvoll.
- Es lässt sich zur direkten Standardisierung einer starken Säurelösung einsetzen; der Äquivalenzpunkt kann potentiometrisch oder mit einem geeigneten Indikator wie z. B. 3-(4-Dimethylamino-1-naphthylazo)-4-methoxybenzol-Sulfonsäure bestimmt werden.
- Wird als Hilfssubstanz in der Pharmazeutikforschung eingesetzt.
