Beschreibung
4-(Dimethylamino)pyridine is a useful nucleophilic catalyst for various reactions viz. esterifications with anhydrides, the Baylis-Hillman reaction, hydrosilylations, tritylation and Steglich rearrangement. It is also an effective catalyst for transesterification of beta-keto esters and silylation of alcohols.

Anwendungen
4-(Dimethylamino)pyridin ist ein nützlicher nucleophiler Katalysator für verschiedene Reaktionen, z. B. Veresterungen mit Anhydriden, der Baylis-Hillman-Reaktion, Hydrosilylierungen, Tritylierung und Steglich-Umlagerung. Es ist auch ein wirksamer Katalysator für die Umesterung von Beta-Ketoestern und die Silylierung von Alkoholen.
Löslichkeit
Löslich in Methanol, Benzol, Ethylacetat, Chloroform, Methylenchlorid, Aceton und Essigsäure. Schwer löslich in Ether, Diisopropylether, Cyclohexan, Hexan und Wasser.
Hinweise
Nicht kompatibel mit Oxidationsmitteln und Säuren.
