About NuPAGE Tris-Acetate Gels
Invitrogen NuPAGE Tris-Acetate protein gels are precast polyacrylamide gels specifically engineered to provide excellent separation of large molecular weight proteins. These gels do not contain SDS, enabling you to run your proteins in native or denatured form, offering maximum flexibility for diverse protein electrophoresis needs. The unique buffer formulation of these gels maintains a low operating pH during electrophoresis, resulting in superior resolution of proteins when compared to traditional Tris-glycine SDS-PAGE gels.
Not only do NuPAGE Tris-Acetate gels offer high-resolution separation, but they are also designed to ensure optimal transfer of larger molecular weight proteins, making them a preferred choice for researchers performing western blotting. Separation
For running Invitrogen protein gels, you have the flexibility to use either the Mini Gel Tank (A25977) or the XCell SureLock Mini-Cell (EI0001). Both systems are designed to provide optimal performance.. Additionally, the Mini Gel Tank is conveniently available through Invitrogen Precast Gel Welcome Packs along with both sample buffer and reducing agent, providing an all-in-one solution for your electrophoresis needs.
Transfer
For transferring your proteins to a membrane, we recommend using for NuPAGE Transfer Buffer (NP0006) for traditional wet transfer using the Mini Blot Module (B1000). Alternatively, rapid semi-dry transfer can be done using the Invitrogen Power Blotter or rapid dry transfer using the iBlot 3 Gel Transfer Device (IB31001).
Convenient to use
NuPAGE Tris-Acetate WedgeWell-format gels have innovative wedge-shaped wells that allow up to two times more sample load volume than other 1.0-mm-thick gels. The wedge-shaped wells also have larger openings, making sample loading easier.
